MY EXPECTATIONS FOR 2021

I have to say I’m very excited about 2021 and I have really good expectations. I believe blindy about a safe vaccine for the virus. I know life is not going to be the same as the pre-covid life, but at least we will be able to do more stuff. If people are conscious and responsable enough, the entire world will be a little bit free again. It’s so sad to see how everyone is talking about a “second wave” of coronavirus cases. I don’t want to see how people die every day because of it, I’m really tired of that. I hope next year this situation changes and the number of cases decreases. Until a vaccine, I think we all have to be extremely careful. Also, everyone’s mental health is really bad because of the lockdown, so I hope everyone could go out a little bit more, specially old people, like my grandmother.

About studies, I think schools and colleges will have a double way of making classes: online and face-to-face, and I really hope our university does the same. I would love to see and meet all my online friends that I’ve made this year. It’s so frustrating keeping this online system because of the inequality of conditions, not everyone has the best connection or the best access to develop their education, some people live where there’s bad connection to wi-fi and we all live with our family which is very complicated, and the face-to-face university can offer a great alternative to these kind of issues. Also, I think that I will learn more in these future conditions than in this current way of teaching.

In my case, I’m planning to go back to Santiago in order to go to start my second year of university and my first year face-to-face. I think I will do a “to do list” about all the things I wanted to do this year but sadly, had to wait, such as dye my hair, go to a gym or start a vegan diet. About the pre-covid life, I miss so much going to concerts, restaurants, birthdays party’s, see my old friends from school, traveling around the country to visit all my family, go to music festivals from Valdivia or watch movies in the cinema. I really want my old life back. The last thing I wish for next year, is to be finally ready with my brackets treatment and have cute teeths.

Next year I will turn 19 years old and I really wish that will be more exciting than my current life. I have a really good feeling about what this future free-covid life. Nothing can be worse than this year.

MY FUTURE JOB

As I’m studying journalism, I think that in a future I would love to work as a writer or in the media. I think they’re very opposite, but this career offers so much posibilities that I would never get tired of it. I don’t care if it’s an office or not, but I would rather not. Definitely, I would love to work with a lot of people. I think we can learn so much from each other.

I’m not actually a very “outdoor” person, but in order to be connected with my job, I know I have to go out a lot. With that clear, I think it wouldn’t bother me at all the travel part, so yes, I would love to travel everywhere around the world.

I’m not very clear yet about what do I want to choose in a future, but I would really like to study about politics, anything about culture (music, movies, books) or anything that includes gender and women rights in the media. Also, I think is relevant to work about the  laws

I’m not specially attracted to do journalism in radio or TV, I would rather write in newspapers or work into investigative journalism.

So far, I’m very excited for my future job.

MY PET

Seven years ago, on new year’s day, I went to my garden to get some wood. For my surprise, I saw a little kitty between the big logs. She seemed terrified so I didn’t bother her, and I came back inside my house. A few weeks later, I kept seeing her around my garden, so my mom bought some food for her. Slowly, she started to loose her fear and we decided to adopt her. We called her Amelia.

Nowadays, Amelia has seven years old. She is a black and white cat, her eyes are green and she’s very tiny and skinny. To be honest, Amelia is a little bit mean, she doesn’t like to be touch very often and she complains a lot if you approach to her. Also, she’s very independendant and social with other cats. Frankly, I admire that.

Without the mean part, I feel like she’s my baby. I love her so much and she’s definitely like a daughter to me, because I raised her since she was very little.  Sometimes I think we have a special connection. I wish she could live forever. She’s everything to me.

Quarantine hobbies

At the start of the quarantine, I moved to Santiago to start University. Sadly, the covid had other plans for the world. So, that made my quarantine experience very weird. I started to live without my mom and my family, which made me grow as a person very quickly. For expamle, I learned a lot of housework: how to try to cook every day (I’m vegeterian, so it was very hard), I had to clean constantly and worry about going to the supermarket every week.

Apart from that, I’ve been doing a lot of homework due to University. I’ve read a lot of stuff for tests but also, books of my own taste. Also, I’ve been writing a lot in my journals to keep me out of stress.

Another thing that I’ve been studying a lot, is astrology and esoteric knowledge, I think it’s been very good to understand myself and also learn how to understand the people who are close to me and my life.

The last hobbie doesn’t make me very proud. I’ve been spending a lot of time looking and buying clothes. I think after so many months looking for dresses, skirts and jeans, I’m an expert looking the best prices in all kinds of stores.

I don’t like to be lock-down, but I think I’ve been doing well after all.

A Country I'd Like To Visit

A country that I would like to visit is “Argentina”, because I love the culture, the history and music from there.

I know a little bit of Argentine History, such as the “Peronismo” era, the years of dictatoship, the “Malvinas War” and the 2001 crisis. Also, I know a lot of great and famous figures from this country, such as Evita Perón, Diego Maradona, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Marcelo Bielsa and the journalist Leila Guerriero.

I would like to visit places like “Plaza de Mayo” and “La Casa Rosada”, or maybe go to see some football game, specially at the stadium “Ciudad de La Plata”. Also, I would love to visit the Patagonia part of Argentina.

I would definitely like to study there because of free education. I know the economy situation is a bit complicated, but still, I would love to work there, because the journalism and the media area are both very ideologized, and I could work to change that situation.

Best Concert Ever

My favourite concert ever was the "Fluvial Festival" from Valdivia, specifically done at the riverbank of the city. This festival was made on December 2th, 2017, and I went with my best friend from school.

We went to see three chilean muscians: Pedropiedra, a famous composer with a great discography, who worked with “31 minutos”; Javiera Mena, a Techno-Pop musician who has five studio albums; and also, Congreso, a folk band from Quilpué that is famous since the “Nueva Canción Chilena” era, with more than fifty years of career.

The atmosphere during the Festival was very fresh, there was a lot of young people enjoying, smoking and singing with the artists. I think we all enjoyed it because of the euphoria and the quality of the musicians.

Also, I remember that while “Congreso” was playing, a guy closed to me and my friend to sell us two bracelets and make a wish. He told us that when the bracelet was off from our hands, the wish was going to come true. Nowadays, without the bracelet, I can say that the wish I did, became true.

MY EXPECTATIONS FOR 2021

I have to say I’m very excited about 2021 and I have really good expectations. I believe blindy about a safe vaccine for the virus. I know...
